If you're wondering why a hard-rocking European band with a strange name, unusual art work and dapper attire has landed in your hands, here's the story:
Several of this band's musicians and backers also work in the tumultuous stock market, hence the name, Covered Call [an investors term referring to having a long position in an asset combined with a short position in a call option on the same underlying asset].

But don't let the GQ gear and ironic, anime-esque Nikkei art lull you into thinking they're as safe or dry as the options their namesake represents, these guys rock harder than the front row at a Van Hagar concert and have enough melodic hooks to pass for Bon Jovi & Journey's bastard child!

Officially formed in 2006 by 4 accomplished Swedish musicians drawn together by their combined playing experience and love of classic arena rock music, the band was the brainchild of drummer Ronny Svanströmer. Ronny re-connected with his old jamming buddy & former Spearfish guitarist, Ola Johansson. The band was rounded out by guitarist Joel Carlsson & singer/bassist Johan Palmberg, both of whom established themselves on the thriving Swedish rock circuit.

Sequestering themselves in a makeshift studio resembling a shed, the musicians quickly gelled - the creativity flowed and 10 melodic masterpieces defining the Covered Call sound were born! The music is an eclectic mix of driving, melodic hard rock steeped in the classic vibe of bands like Bon Jovi, Van Halen, Thin Lizzy and Kiss but with a thoroughly modern, European slant. Thoughtful lyrics belted in harmonious layers combine with edgy guitars and a thick, pulsing rhythm section yielding a hook-heavy batch of jams nearly ready to unleash...but still missing just some key element.

Soon after these initial writing sessions, Johan decided to take a break from the band and Thomas Thulin took over the bass playing. Now in search of a new voice, Covered Call were blessed to enlist Thomas Vikström, a masterful vocalist & frontman already revered for his work with Candlemass and Therion! With one more personnel shift, guitarist Morgan Rosenquist replacing Ola in autumn 2008, the lineup was solidified into its current incarnation.

Signing to the international metallic rock roster of Blistering Records in 2008, who were suitably impressed enough to finance Covered Call’s debut offering - Money Never Sleeps was recorded and mixed at Studio Fredman by the world renown Fredrik Nordström & Henrik Udd with production duties handled internally by Ronny Svanströmer & Joel Carlsson.

Though they may look more like your accountant than your American Idol, Covered Call are ready to rock the melodic metal world, and hopefully take people's minds off of dismal money matters long enough to see a brighter future!
